Born in Detroit, Rick Lovett grew up listening to country/western, rock and roll, and the "motown sound", and these influences can be heard throughout his work. He began singing, playing guitar and writing songs with his family at a young age and began to play professionally with "The Lovett Brothers Band" with his brothers Steve and Ray, introducing fans to numerous original works. After moving his family to San Diego, he formed a bluegrass band called "The High Grass Rollers" and spent several years playing the San Diego beach communities bar scene. Currently, he writes and records as an independent artist. He has released 27 songs and 15 videos to date. which have been well received both nationally and internationally. They can be found on You Tube, Spotify, Amazon Music and all other major streaming services.

Tom’s “Song of the Year Artist 2024” award to Rick for his song “Street of Diamonds”. This award
includes the presentation of a trophy as well as a cash award. Additionally, Rick’s song "Guitar song" is slated to be part of the end credit soundtrack of the soon to be released production of the movie “Slaughterhouse II: Death to Metal”, the sequel to 1987’s “Slaughterhouse” by producer Jerry Encoe.
